Since 2009, the United Kingdom Government has been strengthening border control to effectively record passenger data by rolling out the requirement for Advanced Passenger Information (API) as they travel out and into the UK, and thus improve safety and security.
Advance Passenger Information means providing certain information to the authorities PRIOR to travel, such as your passport details, and where necessary your contact information. This can be completed before travelling via your travel agency or when booking online on www.luxair.lu or when using either our web check-in service on www.luxair.lu or our kiosk check-in at the airport in Luxembourg and in London City.
Information required before travelling into and out of the UK:
- Type of travel document (passport or national identity card)
- Full name (given names as on passport or national identity card)
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Travel document number and expiry date
- Country of travel document issuance
- Country of residence
